I felt compelled to speak on some companies that says they hire globally and do not discriminate against nationality or origin but as soon as they find out that you are located in Jamaica they automatically eliminate you. This is (90 percent of the times) after you have submitted your application which takes quite a while for some companies. So in that we waste valuable time that could be spent seeking other opportunities. Would it not make way more sense for them to simply indicate that the opportunity is not available at the point of sign up or applying, once you're address is entered?      I think so.
A lot of these companies would be better off outsourcing remotely as it costs way less and Jamaicans are dedicated to work once they are being fairly compensated. We are just as qualified for these positions as persons overseas in many cases even more so.

I wonder if one day some-one from the US will hear that they are not being considered for a job because of their geographical location.
Give us a chance where we are from or where we reside does not limit our capabilities!

A Few that I know works

I'm posting these for persons who seek legitimate work from home jobs and yes they are available for Jamaicans.

LeadGenius/Mobile Works
MobileWorks offers legitimate employment for individuals worldwide. They do not discriminate as to your geographical location, so what you are Jamaican; they embrace all nationalities. You may work part time or full time. This could actually replace your day job if you are looking to do so or if you are just looking to make money through online work.
MobileWorks usually takes 2-3 weeks to respond to you after application is submitted but trust me it is worth the wait. I suggest applying for the Payoneer MasterDebitcard as this will give you quick access to your salary from the MobileWorks team and it is way more convenient than Paypal.
This is more of a telemarketing site. so for those who love sales this would be an ideal site to join. they post jobs daily and you can apply 90 percent of the jobs posted are available to Jamaicans and the employers do pay as  i know that payment is an issue for most of these online jobs.

Sutherland Global Sevices
Sutherland is a globally recognized company and even has a branch here in Jamaica. They do however offer work from home opportunities and are flexible and accommodating on the job front.

There are  also the more popular ones but these are more of a pay per task sites rather than actual jobs.

Here you bid on jobs'tasks and if selected the employer will award you the job and you and that person will come to agreement and pay and how you wish to be paid.

At Elance you submit proposals and employers will reach out to you if you match what they are looking for.

A different type of Job or rather a legitimate way to make money online is DSD.
The drawback that most people may have is that there is a sign up cost. For beginners it is US$20,but the rewards are excellent and you will make back your investment in no time. This opportunity requires dedication and patience but as long as you follow the instructions given by the leaders you will reap big rewards. They regular hosts webinars to ensure everyone in their system is up to date and primed to benefit in the manner intended.

Starting out

I've seen a few blogs about working from home in Jamaica but none that have really taken me to where i wanted to be (not discrediting others). I hope to be the change for others like myself who seek to to have legitimate employment from home.
I am not an experienced blogger but just thought i would share my experiences and opinions re work from home opportunities that have been taking over.
I just recently started working from home for a US company of course, after having my daughter i decided that i really didn't want to have to leave her at such a young stage to go back to work and have all the added expenses that comes with that(daycare, transportation, lunch etc.), So i decided to get on my computer and do in depth research. I went through so many posts re the subject but came up empty handed. Until i started getting replies from from a few. They had me go through these really long application process even telephone interviews and then when your hopes are heightened you get that dreaded email. " After careful consideration, we've decided not to continue on with your candidacy for a position on this project. Your resume will still be available for other project managers to review, if desired.  We appreciate your interest, however, and wish you all the best in the future!"
I've even had a few tell me that there are no opportunities available in my area and the ones who claim they don't discriminate when you are filling out the application then tell you that due to your geographical location they are unable to offer  you the job, not withstanding you are more than qualified.
I spend quite a few hours sometimes just ciphering jobs online to see which are legitimate and also available to us in Jamaica. I will post these and update my blog with any new opportunities that comes along.
If anyone is going to post jobs in a comment or so please ensure that these are legitimate and are free because i do not believe in paying to work it should be the other way around.
